Team Management

Team Management

Pro and Business workspaces can invite teammates, assign roles, and — on Business — lock the workspace to specific domains and single sign-on.

Inviting team members

  1. Go to the portal  and open Team.
  2. Click Invite Member.
  3. Enter the invitee’s email.
  4. Pick their role (Member or Admin).
  5. Click Send Invite.

The invitee gets an email with a signup link. When they accept, they’re added to your workspace and inherit its plan and quotas.

Roles

Formula Foundry has three workspace roles:

RolePermissions
OwnerFull access. Manages billing, membership, workspace settings, and SSO. Exactly one per workspace.
AdminInvite/remove members, edit workspace settings, manage team snippets. Cannot touch billing.
MemberUses Formula Foundry with the plan’s features. No team or billing controls.

Removing a member

  1. Open Team in the portal.
  2. Find the person.
  3. Use the three-dot menuRemove.

Removed members lose workspace access immediately, including any team snippets. Their personal account and private snippets remain intact.

Seat management

Seat controls depend on the plan’s allowSelfServeSeatManagement capability:

  • Pro — owners and admins can add or remove seats directly from the portal; Stripe adjusts the subscription.
  • Business — seat changes may be handled as part of a negotiated contract; the self-serve buttons are hidden when that’s the case. Contact support for adjustments.

Allowed domains (Business)

On Business plans, owners and admins can restrict the workspace to email addresses from specific domains. Anyone outside those domains can’t be invited and existing members from other domains are flagged. Configure this under Workspace → Allowed domains.

Single sign-on (Business)

Business workspaces can enable SSO via WorkOS, supporting providers like Okta SAML and Azure AD OIDC. Under Workspace → SSO, connect your identity provider and WorkOS will handle the handshake. Once enabled, members sign in through your IdP instead of Google or Microsoft.

Transferring ownership
